Possums are Pests!

There's a war of words about possums. Many New Zealanders believe possums are harmless, but others don't. I personally think possums possums should be eradicated as they harm our environment. But it's not only me who thinks this. There's the department of conservation (DOC) and other environmental agencies.
Possums harm our environment by eating lots from the forest floors. When they eat lots from the forest floors, they don't only harm the forest floors, but also affect the birds in a way called starvation as birds also eat some from the forest floors.
Possums alo harm our native birds in another way by eating their eggs. When possums do this this the native birds could become extinct. They also harm the native birds by destroying their habitat, which causes birds to move to another place which might not be a convenient place.
Possums are breeding a little too much, and they're breeding by eating our native plants which belong to the native birds, or breeding by eating the birds' eggs. It's like the more possums the less native species.
There's no actual need for possums to stay in New Zealand, but they're still here. So either we do somthing about possums or we lose our native species. I don't want them, but what about you?
